Hi. My name is Eileen. My human mama says I am the best kitty she has ever met. I get along well with everyone...cats, dogs, even pigs. I love to be held with my right side against you. See, I have all 4 of my legs but I walk like a tri-pod. Mama will explain below why. My human mama says I would do best in a calm home because it is my right front leg that I can't use so I am easily knocked off balance. It doesn't slow me down. I can still jump and play. Most of all though, I love to be cuddled and carried.
Eileen was dropped off at Animal Services with her newborn babies. Animal Control called us in with an urgent plea because they were afraid she had a broken pelvis. She had her leg xrayed and checked by a vet. It is most likely a birth defect. They said it could possibly be straightened out with braces/splints that would need to be changed every couple days so that will be up to the adopter and the vet of choosing.
Kelly F is her foster parent. The adoption fee for Eileen is $60. If more than one cat or kitten is adopted the adoption fees are discounted, please complete our online application form if you are interested in adopting Eileen. A volunteer will contact you within approximately 24-48 hours.
All Kalamazoo Animal Rescue cats & kittens are spayed or neutered and feline leukemia tested prior to adoption. They also are given medication to rid them of roundworms and checked and treated for fleas & ear mites, if needed. All are given distemper vaccinations and depending on how long the pet has been in foster care, a booster vaccine may be necessary after adoption which will be the responsibility of the adopter. Additional vet care may have been provided depending on the particular animal's needs. Most cats and kittens are microchipped when they are spayed or neutered.
