Hello! I am Nugget and I am looking for a great forever home. I like my foster home but need a home of my own. I am mostly a playful, silly puppy who loves other dogs and is good with cats (but like to try to play with them). I do take a while to get comfortable in a new environment due to lack of proper socialization when I was really little. I will need further obedience work and training. I settle down in my crate and am working on house training but still have accidents. I get anxious at times and don't like feeling like I am being pressured into doing things (thus the need for further training). I can get mouthy if anxious, bored or feeling forced. I would love a home with another active dog to keep me busy. Long walks would be good too. Preference will be given to potential adopters with experience dealing with dogs who were not properly socialized with their litter mates. If you are interested and want to meet me, please complete an application.
Love and puppy kisses,
Rebecca P is his foster parent. The adoption fee for Nugget is $350, please complete our online application formspeak to a volunteer if you are interested in adopting Nugget. A volunteer will contact you.
All Kalamazoo Animal Rescue dogs & puppies are spayed or neutered prior to adoption. Dogs have been heartworm tested and if appropriate (age and time of year) all dogs and puppies are given heartworm preventative. All are given medication to rid them of roundworms and checked and treated for fleas & ear mites, if needed. Dogs and puppies are given distemper vaccines and depending on how long the pet has been in foster care, additional distemper vaccine(s) may be necessary and the expense will be incurred by the adopter. Any canine over 4 months of age is brought current on the Rabies vaccine. Additional vet care may have been provided depending on the particular animal's needs. Dogs are individually priced as above.
It is in the best interest of pooch and owner to enroll in an obedience class soon after adoption. After all, you have a lot to learn about your new friend. Both PetSmart and the Kalamazoo Dog Training Club offer a discount to owners with newly adopted dogs. Enroll before any behavior problems start - you won't regret it!
