Talk about the CHANCE of a lifetime … here he is! A handsome blond gentleman who really loves the ladies, he will warm up to and charm the good guys as well. Chance is still a youngster, less than 2 years old, a small fellow (about 14 lbs.) with some mysterious heritage (long-haired chihuahua and maybe beagle?) and a less than ideal early life (born in KY, rescued in northern IN, adopted and recently relinquished in Southwest MI). Chance is neutered, chipped, and up to date on all his shots, and he is ready to settle into his forever home with a loving and active single, couple, or family with older children. Young children and toddlers may not be the best playmates as Chance needs to learn more trust and not get defensive or overly protective. He has made great progress in his foster home with a retired couple, however he would benefit from more activity and room for “zoomies”. He loves walks and chasing tossed soft toys. Chance is quite smart, knows the basic commands, and has also learned “off” and “wait” to curb his exuberance and not jump on people or furniture until invited “up”. He loves lap time cuddling and to have his long silky coat brushed (yes, he does shed!) Chance acts friendly and shows interest in other dogs; his behavior with cats is unknown. He is not food aggressive, in fact he is not a big eater … sometimes downright picky. But he loves his training treats and snacks, especially cheese. He does not beg or try to swipe people food. He also does not chew on things other than his own toys, but he might move a shoe or sock from one room to another when he feels neglected. Patient and consistent training will surely be rewarded with lots of love. He shows some separation anxiety so he will need more help to overcome this issue. Give him a chance, he will capture your heart!
Audrey P was his foster parent.
