Meet Dutch, a two-year old purebred Beagle that came to KAR needing leg surgery. Even limping and uncomfortable prior to surgery Dutch showed how happy, sweet, loving and friendly he is. He hasn't skipped a beat now that the surgery has left him with 3 legs. He is still loving and energetic and has adjusted amazingly well to getting around.

This sweet boy is sooooo loving and affectionate with everyone he meets, but especially his foster mom to whom he has become devoted to and is like her little shadow. Dutch can be quite silly with noises, silly faces, rolling around on the floor and taking naps on his back.

Dutch is a food motivated learner who is house broken, crate trained, and knows basic commands. Typical to the breed however, Dutch does bay at animals and will guard the home and alert to people at the front door or outside the home. He will need continued work with the leave it command for barking and distractions in and around the home and yard.

He would do best with a family with breed experience. An active home, with older children and NO cats would be his perfect match. He would also love a home with dog siblings to spend time and be active with. Also preferred is a home with a fenced yard where he spends a minimal amount of time in his crate alone during the day.

If you think Dutch could be the perfect addition to your family, apply to meet/adopt him, today!

Emily Z was his foster parent.
