Meet Dex

Hi, my name is Dex and I am a staffordshire bull terrier/spaniel (pit bull) mix. I'm a very sweet, friendly, playful  boy who is so thankful to be in KAR. I came into the rescue when Animal Services was full, so my foster mom saved my life. I was scheduled to be euthanized only because there was no more room and I had been in the shelter for a long, long time--around 60 days I think!

My foster mom says that I was a dog well worth saving because I am intelligent and quite wonderful! I really do love her praise and try even harder when she talks so nice to me! I love to play and still sort of think that I am a puppy. I also love to go for long walks and cuddle up next to my foster mom when she plays with me. I am pretty good about being in my crate and starting to learn that it is a comfortable space that is all mine. I took and passed a basic obedience class and I still continue to work on my commands. I learned sit, down, stay, come, and wait. I am not perfect at doing all of these commands but I am trying really hard and I get better each day. I hope that whoever adopts me will continue to work with me on all that I have learned in school. I like the attention and learning these commands. The treats I get when I do them right is the best! 

Dex is a wonderful dog that will surely make the right family very lucky. His ideal home will have a fenced in yard and plenty of opportunities to go on walks. Dex has been known to be overly interested in cats, so a home with no cats please. Because of his size and playfulness, no small children in the home. Dex  would do best with confident and experienced adopters to help him be the best dog he can be. He is a goofball and will definitely put a smile on your face! Apply and come meet him today!
