My what a handsome young man! Look at the color of his gorgeous eyes!

Meet Doster, named so because he has been living outside this past winter on Lake Doster in Augusta! It's pretty unbelievable that anything survived outside with the winter we've had but Doster has the battle wounds to prove it!

Thanks to some caring folks who live on the lake, this lucky cat was brought to a loving foster home and has been nursed back to health. Doster will let you pick him up like a baby and through all of his time in his foster home he has never once lifted a claw aggressively. He talks up a storm and just wants to be near you. He is so thankful to have been saved!

Having suffered extensive bite wound injuries on his whole body which left him horribly infected and in pain he had stopped taking care of his fur coat which needed some TLC too! A course of antibiotics and gentle grooming every day and his makeover is almost complete.... now he just needs a loving forever home!

Due to being an unaltered male cat and getting into numerous battles for territories, Doster has contracted FIV. This virus is life long but with good vet care and diet he should live as long as 15 years and it does not require daily medication or expensive treatment. It is spread though biting so as long as he is properly and carefully introduced to other cats in a home he can live with fellow feline friends. A home by himself would be preferred. He seems to adore children and is happy to be around the calm dog he lives with.
