Meet Lexi!  This little chihauhau has had a bit of a rough start in life.  Lexi came into the rescue in early may with a broken leg, malnourished and with sores all over her legs which are conducive to living in a wire care for an extended period of time.  Over the last couple of months Lexi has flourished into a well-rounded, happy-go-lucky, loving girl.

Lexi is house broken, gets along with cats and loves everyone that is over the age of approximately 10.  Lexi is very shy around new people and will take a little time to get comfortable with someone new.  Lexi perfers mature children since they won't chase her around.  Lexi is not a big barker, but will sound the alarm when someone is at the door or when she hears a noise she is suspicious of.  Lexi appears to like some dogs and others not so much, which is somewhat typical of the chi breed.

Some of Lexi's favorite things to do is to lay in the sun and to snuggle with her family.  On a nice sunny day, you will find Lexi would just love to go outside, lay down in a patch of sun and just observe all the wonders of the world.  At night, Lexi loves to cuddle up on a lap and watch TV.  When it is bed time, Lexi will dive under the covers and sleep next to you all night long.

One of the cutest things Lexi does is her happy dance.  After she has gone potty outside, Lexi will come inside and run around and will stand on her hind legs with her front paws stretched high in the air!  Forget a simple high-five!  This girl wants a high-ten!

Lexi's perfect family will continue to grow her self confidence, will give her all the love of their hearts, will give her wet and dried food mixed (her favorite), will allow her to be outside to sunbath and will allow her to sleep with them.

Lexi will be available sometime in the first week of July.

KateF was her foster parent.
