Meet Lincoln

Lincoln is looking for a special home to live out his life surrounded by love, peace and comfort. His foster mom was involved in his rescue when he was found dodging traffic on a busy street on the outskirts of Portage. His family was tracked down but they did not want him. Animal Services relinquished him into our care.

Lincoln has never seen a vet in his entire life, so we were surprised that he only needed a dental and treatment for a UTI. He's been in foster care for a while and has transformed into a happier, healthier dog.

It was clear this gentle old soul did nothing wrong and to be thrown away is beyond anything we can comprehend. Lincoln is a gentleman, he enjoys the company of all dogs and cats, he is calm and quiet, and is very used to children.

We want a home for Lincoln that will shower him with love, TLC, vet care and good nutrition. Ideally someone needs to be home with him more often than not as he needs to go out to potty fairly regularly. You will need to be prepared for the odd accident while he adjusts to your home and routine. A warm fire, a cozy bed and a couple of good meals every day is all this boy needs in his twilight years. He is opening up more and more every day. He knew he wasn't loved at his old house and although he has never been put on a leash, he has never once tried to run away from his foster mom. Lincoln deserves owners who are willing to be patient and understanding to help him live out his last years in happiness with a family who loves him. Ideally you will be experienced owners with a fenced in yard who realize what it takes to adopt a dog like this. Yes, you will lose him sooner than you want, but you will not regret giving this old guy a home. Please consider him for your family.
