Puma had a very rough start to his life. Puma came into KAR as a small kitten last summer with his two sisters after they were found in a barn. Shortly after coming into the rescue Pumas lost one of his sisters to pneumonia. The first two months we had him he was consistently battling upper respiratory infections. Finally he is doing better and ready to find his forever home. Puma is still learning to completely trust humans. Puma currently is in a foster home doing very well. He is initially shy when you pick him up but once he has a couple minutes to realize you're okay he snuggles in purring and kneading. The ideal home for Pumas has another cat to continue teaching him that humans are okay or will consider adopting a friend along with him. Puma will need someone with lots of love and patience to help him come out of his shell. I am sure that once he finds the right home he will really blossom. Puma has been introduced to a small barky dog and doesn't seem to mind her. He would likely do okay in a home with a dog who has been around cats previously. Because of his shyness I believe Puma would prefer a home without small children.

Shannon B was his foster parent.
