Meet Baby Beluga

Approx DOB: 2/19/2012
Gender: Male
Microchipped

I walked into Animal Services the day Baby Beluga was brought in. He looked like a terrified baby seal laying in the cage not knowing what was going on. As soon as his stray hold was up I went back so I could help him learn that it was going to be okay and help him find a family to love him. Beluga has blossomed since coming to KAR. He is such a sweet, snuggly big boy. His meow reminds me of a whale. Baby Beluga is no longer shy, he is always happy to see volunteers coming and glad to greet them. He is going to thrive in a home with lots of love to give. Baby Beluga did yes positive for FIV. A cat with FIV given regular vet care will not have their life shortened. FIV is only transmittable between cats who are mating or give each other a deep wound bites. Cats with FIV live a long healthy life in a stress free environment. Beluga is living in a room with several cats who are FIV negative. . Upon introducing him to the room, several of the senior cats of the room greeted him with hissing and growling. Beluga walked over and rubbed against my leg as if questioning what on earth is going on?? He would do great in a home with other cats-even ones who are FIV negative. Beluga would probably enjoy a home with children. And possibly even one with dogs.

Shannon B was his foster parent.
