We collect bottles and cans year-round to help bring in a recurring source of funds to support our programs. Your empties = full bellies\, medical care\, and warm beds – and all you have to do is come drop them off! \n\nPlease note: we can only accept bottles and cans eligible for a 10-cent deposit rebate under Michigan’s Bottle Deposit Law. Visit FAQs section on the Bottles and Cans page to find out if your cans are returnable.\nImportant note: We ask that you please do not leave bottles/cans outside of the storage unit outside of drop-off hours. If you cannot make it to drop-off hours\, you may bring your donations to our shelter during our walk-in hours. We house many of our adoptable cats and kittens at our primary location\, but some pets are placed in a foster home while they look for their forever home. If you have questions about adopting a new pet from KAR\, our staff and volunteers will be happy to answer them for you while you’re here. \nBefore visiting\, please note: \n\nAll of our dogs and puppies are in foster homes\, not housed at our facility. To meet our adoptable canines\, please submit an adoption application to schedule a “meet and greet” or watch our Facebook page for information about upcoming adoption events.\nDonations are gratefully accepted during these walk-in hours.
