Athena, here! I think my name makes me sound like I'm ready to take on the world...but truth be told, I'm a little shy at first. It doesn't take me long to warm up and then all I want is to snuggle on the couch or run around the yard with you.

My foster mom thinks I'm being silly when I'm shy because she sees my energetic, playful, and goofy side every day, from dawn until dusk. I also LOVE other dogs, cats, and kids. Pretty much anyone who will show me attention.

I currently live with three other dogs and it's the best thing ever! My foster mom says I'm the "annoying little sister" because I am always trying to get the older doggies to play with me, even if they don't really want to. Someone's got to keep them young, am I right?!

I also live with a cat. He took awhile to warm up to me but I was patient and calm and we're finally friends. There are also foster kittens here. I'm working on being more gentle when I greet them, but I have no intention of harming them. I just want to play with everyone, including the neighbor kids.

Though I love napping upside down on the couch, I so have puppy energy to burn before I get to that point and would love to be someones running buddy or have a nice big yard to stretch my legs in. Playing fetch is fun, but sometimes I get distracted and forget to bring the ball back. Oops! I'm working on my basic manners, but it's a little hard to focus with so many fur-friends around. I'm learning how to be a good girl in my crate right now, it's not my favorite, but I manage. It is also helping me hone in on my potty training skills. Sometimes I forget I'm supposed to hold it until my foster mom gets home. I am not what humans call a "runner" but I also tend to wander with my nose if left unattended. What can I say, I love to smell alllll of the good smells!

I'm working on the confidence thing and if you're interested in giving me a forever home, I ask that you continue helping me to be the best dog I can be! Do you think you could be the perfect match for a sweet, playful, loving girl like myself? Do you have other doggo friends for me to play with? Fill out an application and meet me, I'll do my best to only shy away for a minute or two.

Hailey K was her foster parent.
